[ david sighs through his nose, watching the way evan finishes his drink and gets up wordlessly. normally when they talk david is fairly secure in knowing it's evan who tanked the mood, can't always figure out what it was that made evan's mood turn, but he's certain he can always track the highs and lows, the way something crumbles and he brings the tone veering into a ditch. ]
