[ the text confuses him, he would've assumed it would be radio silence from evan until they were ready to move things along. it also annoys him a lot because he was out somewhere, but he can't think of a reason why evan would contact him that isn't work, so he regretfully apologises to the people he's with (and sets up a hefty tab for them) before he leaves to go meet evan. ]
[ sometime later david shows up, looking more like the guy evan knows and hates. flashy clothes; shirt halfway buttoned up, expensive jeans, just enough jewellery to show off without looking like he's actually trying. there's smudges of lipstick and foundation on the collar and shoulder of his shirt and the general alcohol, cologne, and sweat smell of a club is still lingering on him a little. ]
